one is apple and the other is orange. You cannot compare apples to oranges. Haha. Eventually Burhan will explain why both of them are good at what they were designed for.

i agree with you on everything you just said i know the blackberry is for business, but i barely see people using it for e-mails, i've only known one person in my life that sends e-mails through her blackberry, but anyways the bbm feature is very annoying and very nice iphone i've had it long enough to realize how boring it was, i took it from my uncle unlocked it cause it was from the us and kept it with me for a week, and it was a nice phone dont get me wrong, the only problem is that its kinda boring p.s: all phones can make phone calls, sms and play music so whats the use!! and one more thing to krank both of the cameras on blackberrys and iphones are unbelievably HORRIBLE

mocman wrote: i have a very strange feeling that i have read this thread before... deja vu? Yeah, back in May we had the same thread. I'll just quote my reply from there: Burhan wrote: The iphone is for you if:
1. You are a heavy web user; you tend to look things up on the web a lot. 2. You want to play proper games on your mobile. 3. You are not a heavy SMS/text/email user.
The blackberry is for you if:
1. You want to be in touch with your email (work, personal, etc.) 2. You have lots of friends on BBM. 3. You prefer to text than talk.
Iphone's positive points (compared to Blackberry):
1. Tons of software and very high quality games available. 2. Tons of accessories available; such as audio docks, etc. 3. Device is designed for visual experience.
Iphone's negative points (compared to Blackberry):
1. Not a solid business device; cannot be remotely managed. 2. No keyboard (comparing to Curve/Bold). 3. Text/email features sorely lacking.
Blackberry's positive points:
1. Blackberry system is very robust. RIM has been making these devices for a lot longer than Apple has. 2. Solid reliability and security features. 3. Its not pretending to be made for games. Its a business device. 4. Possibly the best keyboard on any device (Bold/Curve)
Blackberry's negative points:
1. Lack of third party entertainment software. 2. Lack of comparable accessories. 3. Its a one-trick pony. Don't expect stellar gaming or video performance.
Compare what you need to use the device for, and then make your decision.

I had both iphone 3G and blackberry bold. I am a business user. I need my phone to make and receive calls, sms, and emails. I don't need it to play games or listen to music. I sold the iphone 3g because:
1. It sucks at email/SMS/text 2. Whatever gaming or Internet browsing I want to do on it, I can do on my ipod touch which is a lot cheaper. 3. As a phone -- a nokia 2600 has better call quality than the iphone. At the same location where my old E66 has perfect call reception, calls to my iphone return with "the mobile phone is switched off or out of the coverage area..." 4. Crippled for no reason - has bluetooth, but can't transfer files; can't even tether using bluetooth.
A lot of Apple fans will jump in now and say "if you jailbreak it you can do _______ ". I don't have to do anything on any of my other phones to get functionality that comes in the device; so how is this something in iphone's favor?
My ipod touch does all the "wow" things that the iphone does, for cheap. if I need to browse on it on the go, I have joikuspot installed on my E66 (which turns it into a wifi hotspot).
The blackberry:
1. Works as a phone. 2. Brilliant at email and SMS text 3. Has a proper, grown up keyboard 4. Is not crippled (as stated above)
Right now, I have a Blackberry Curve (sold the Bold because I didn't need the GPS, and got the Curve for better battery life) and a Nokia E66.

My friend just got a Gemini. It looks kinda' cute. I'm thinking of getting it. So far I'm the only one out of all my friends who hasn't gotten a Blackberry. I don't mind really but I am intrigued by the applications. Are there any girly girl applications? 'Cuz for me, that's what it comes down to. The applications for Gemini or Iphone will help me decide which one to get.
